This is a complete 220 hour professional certification taught personally by second generation hypnotherapist Mark Johnson, delivered through a live, interactive online classroom. You practice on real people every single class day, under live supervision, and graduate ready to see paying clients.

I wish there were 10 or 20 stars, as I cannot begin to put into words how amazing the Hypnosis Training course was with Mark Johnson. Once COVID-19 derailed the original class schedule of meeting in-person for two separate weeks of training, Mark presented through Zoom. We had presentations and lectures, we were able to see notes and outlines, video clips and live demonstrations with his shared screens. Lots of member participation and interaction. The separate rooms were perfect for practicing techniques with partners. Zoom allowed for Mark to enter the rooms and observe; as well, there was a help button so he could assist at anytime. Feedback throughout was excellent. As I have practiced with volunteers, friends, family, all of which was done on Zoom, both the clients as well as myself have been extremely comfortable and found the on-line experiences to be comfortable and effective. I feel very well prepared and have formed some awesome relationships with Mark and my fellow classmates. The best!

What Does the Certification Require for Norfolk Students?

Twelve live days, three modules of four days, Thursday through Sunday, every other week, running 11 in the morning to 7 in the evening Eastern. Six days of leave or PTO across six weeks covers a standard schedule, and the 110 self directed hours, reading, the video library, and five real practice sessions with people outside class, flex around watch bills and shift work alike.

You certify through the International Association of Counselors and Therapists, recognized worldwide, first year of membership included, with six months of the Good Vibes Hypnosis Mentor Circle, a live group session on the third Tuesday of every month, standing behind the new practice.

Is Norfolk itself a strong market, beyond the base?

Stronger than its reputation. The urban core of Hampton Roads holds the shipyards, the hospitals, the university and the arts district revival, all generating exactly the stress, sleep and habit caseload this work serves, with almost nobody certified to serve it. Classes run 10:00 to 6:00 Central Time, which is 11:00 in the morning to 7:00 in the evening Eastern for Norfolk students.

Often, yes. Sailors, veterans and military families are regulars in these classes, drawn by one of the most portable credentialed professions available to them.

A computer with a camera and a stable internet connection. That is genuinely it. You do not need special software beyond Zoom, and you do not need a studio.
