What Makes This Training Built to Last?

The same things that separate a Grand Rapids chair from a flat pack one: material, joinery and inspection. The material is 220 hours, 110 of them live, against the weekend certificate’s twenty. The joinery is the method, every technique demonstrated before you learn it, practiced under supervision the same day, so the skill is fastened rather than glued. Comfortably, and West Michigan deserves the direct answer: hypnosis is focused attention, a natural state, and nothing about it asks anyone to surrender their will or set aside their convictions. Clients remain aware and in control from first word to last, sessions are private, and the practitioner works within the client’s own framework, never over it.

What Does the Certification Ask for Grand Rapids Students?

Twelve live days: three modules of four days, Thursday through Sunday, every other week, running 11 in the morning to 7 in the evening Eastern. Six days off a standard job across six weeks, with the 110 self directed hours, reading, video library and five outside practice sessions, fitting around real life. Most students recoup tuition within their first twenty paying clients.

You certify through the International Association of Counselors and Therapists, recognized worldwide, first year of membership included, plus six months of the Good Vibes Hypnosis Training Mentorship Program, a live group session on the third Tuesday of every month, while the practice gets built, properly.

Yes, and my honest advice is do not quit your day job on day one. I did not leap into the void myself. I spent several years writing code for a living, including a stretch programming for match.com, while seeing clients on evenings and weekends and slowly building up. That is the path I recommend, because it takes financial survival pressure off the table and lets you focus on getting good. Some students move faster. I had one buy an office condo before our class even finished. But easing in is not a lesser version of this, it is the sustainable version. You learn this work by sitting in the chair and doing sessions, and the practice grows as your confidence does.

It is one of the most natural transitions I see. Bodyworkers come to me saying some version of the same thing, that the stamina is not what it was and they cannot picture doing this for another fifteen years. You already know how to hold space for someone, how to be trusted with a body and a nervous system, how to notice what a person is not saying. Hypnotherapy asks for all of that and none of the physical toll. Many bodyworkers add it alongside their existing practice at first and let it grow as their hands do less.
