This is a complete 220 hour professional certification taught personally by second generation hypnotherapist Mark Johnson, delivered through a live, interactive online classroom. You practice on real people every single class day, under live supervision, and graduate ready to see paying clients.

What Makes This Training Built to Last?

The same things that separate a Grand Rapids chair from a flat pack one: material, joinery and inspection. The material is 220 hours, 110 of them live, against the weekend certificate’s twenty. The joinery is the method, every technique demonstrated before you learn it, practiced under supervision the same day, so the skill is fastened rather than glued. The inspection is real: five complete sessions with people outside class, a written assignment, and an exam we prepare for together.

A craft assembled that way does not wobble when a real client sits down, and it does not go out of style, because it never depended on style in the first place.

The Mile supplies students: nurses, techs and caregivers who arrive with clinical discipline and bedside trust already built, looking for gentler hours and work that resolves patterns instead of managing them. Will This Work Fit a Values Centered Community?

Comfortably, and West Michigan deserves the direct answer: hypnosis is focused attention, a natural state, and nothing about it asks anyone to surrender their will or set aside their convictions. Clients remain aware and in control from first word to last, sessions are private, and the practitioner works within the client’s own framework, never over it.

What this community will evaluate, sensibly, is character and results, and both are the point of the training: an ethical craft, thoroughly learned, producing changes a family can see. Plenty of my students and clients are people of deep faith, practicing comfortably within it.

What Does the Certification Ask for Grand Rapids Students?

Twelve live days: three modules of four days, Thursday through Sunday, every other week, running 11 in the morning to 7 in the evening Eastern. Six days off a standard job across six weeks, with the 110 self directed hours, reading, video library and five outside practice sessions, fitting around real life. Most students recoup tuition within their first twenty paying clients.

You certify through the International Association of Counselors and Therapists, recognized worldwide, first year of membership included, plus six months of the Good Vibes Hypnosis Training Mentorship Program, a live group session on the third Tuesday of every month, while the practice gets built, properly.

Is West Michigan a real market for this work?

A steady and nearly unserved one. The metro tops a million, the Medical Mile generates caregivers and clients in equal measure, and certified hypnotherapists are scarce from Lansing to the lakeshore. Grand Rapids builds things that last, and a practice here, built properly, will.

Reading from my recommended reading list, watching the training videos in the resource library and the YouTube playlist, and doing the work. At least five complete hypnosis sessions with people outside of class, which is the part that changes you. Every student tells me the same thing afterward, that the reading made sense but the sessions are where it became real. You keep access to the resource library after you graduate, so the reading and the videos stay available whenever you want to go back to something.
