You certify through the International Association of Counselors and Therapists, recognized worldwide, first year of membership included, with six months of the Good Vibes Hypnosis Mentor Circle, a live group session on the third Tuesday of every month, riding along for the first year’s haul.

Would a practice here work in Spanish, English or both?

Classes run 10:00 to 6:00 Central Time, and Laredo is Central, so class time is your time, no conversion needed.

Yes. The techniques are language independent, and students planning a Spanish speaking or bilingual practice are welcome to complete their practice sessions in Spanish.

In most of the United States, no. Hypnosis is a self regulated field, and in the great majority of the country there is no state licensing board, no government exam and no degree requirement standing between you and seeing clients. Your professional standing comes from certification through a recognized body, which for my graduates is the International Association of Counselors and Therapists.

That said, a handful of states do have their own rules, usually about what you may call yourself in your marketing, or a simple client disclosure form, or registering with the state. Those rules change, so I am not going to state anything here as settled law for where you live.

We go through what applies to you in class, before you build a website or write your intake paperwork, and I would always tell you to confirm your own state for yourself rather than take a web page's word for it, mine included. If you already hold a clinical license, that license stays your baseline authority and you start from a strong position.

It stacks on top of what you already do rather than replacing any of it, unless that is what you want to do. Many of my students are licensed therapists, clinical social workers, counselors, nurses and professional coaches, and they tend to describe the same thing. Talk therapy is valuable, but it works largely within the conscious mind, and that can feel slow. Hypnosis accelerates the work you already do. By moving past the conscious mind's critical factor you reach the place where the patterns and the programs actually live. Adding interactive techniques like Parts Therapy, inner child work and regression to cause lets you help a client find and release a block in far less time than talking around it. Your license stays your baseline authority. This is a tool that makes it go further.
