Laredo Hypnosis Training is delivered through a live, interactive online classroom, so the complete professional certification is open to you from San Isidro to Del Mar, downtown to the Heights, Zapata up through Cotulla, without a minute in bridge traffic. Live demonstration and supervised practice, every class day.

What Does the Certification Involve?

This is a complete 220 hour professional certification taught personally by second generation hypnotherapist Mark Johnson, delivered through a live, interactive online classroom. You practice on real people every single class day, under live supervision, and graduate ready to see paying clients.

  • 110 hours of live, interactive instruction over Zoom, Thursday through Sunday every other week

The complete 220 hours from home: 110 live across three Thursday through Sunday modules, every other week, running 10 to 6 on Laredo clocks, Central time, no conversion, plus 110 self directed hours including five real practice sessions with people outside class, in Spanish if you choose. Six days off a standard job covers the live half, and most students recoup tuition within their first twenty paying clients.

You certify through the International Association of Counselors and Therapists, recognized worldwide, first year of membership included, with six months of the Good Vibes Hypnosis Training Mentorship Program, a live group session on the third Tuesday of every month, riding along for the first year’s haul.

Would a practice here work in Spanish, English or both?

Whichever the client dreams in, and that is Laredo’s advantage. The techniques are language independent, and a bilingual practitioner in a ninety five percent Hispanic city of a quarter million, with Nuevo Laredo across the river and online reach down the whole border, holds a market position no English only practice in San Antonio can touch. Students are welcome to run their practice sessions in Spanish.

No one gets stuck. Trance is a natural state of focused attention that you move in and out of on your own all the time, on a long drive or lost in a book. A client can open their eyes and stand up whenever they choose. Safety in this work is much less about the trance itself and much more about knowing what to do when something emotional surfaces, which is precisely what the supervised practice and the clinical training are for. You will not be improvising.

Sometimes it takes a while. Sometimes it takes one afternoon, and that still surprises me after all these years. I worked with a woman on confidence and boundaries for three sessions, then did not hear from her for a year, until I ran into her at a market. She told me that on the evening of the third session her controlling partner came over looking for a fight, and instead of shrinking the way she always had, she simply stood there and spoke calmly. He was so thrown that he took her house key off his keyring, set it on the table, and left. She never needed a fourth session. Working with the subconscious directly is not slow work.
