Fayetteville Hypnosis Training brings a second generation education to the Army's hometown. I grew up inside my father's hypnosis practice and refined the craft under masters like Gil Boyne and Gerald Kein, and Fayetteville students, soldiers, spouses and the city that serves them, receive that lineage as what it is: training built the way training should be.

What Does an Airborne Town Carry Into the Chair?

The cost of staying ready. A community built around rapid deployment keeps its nervous system half packed at all times, and that shows up as the classic caseload at military intensity, sleep that will not stand down, vigilance that follows people home, habits that started as stress relief and stayed as fixtures, and families running households through cycles civilians never see. Spouses, veterans and the city that serves the installation all carry a share.

The training’s scope boundaries matter most here. Anything clinical, and combat trauma above all, refers to licensed providers and the military’s own systems, and the practitioner who honors that line is the one this community learns to trust with everything else.

Why Do Soldiers Make Strong Practitioners?

Because the profession is mostly made of things the Army already taught them, show up prepared, follow a protocol under pressure, read the person in front of you, debrief honestly, and train until competence is verified rather than assumed. This certification is structured the way soldiers expect training to be structured, demonstration, supervised repetitions, evaluation, and veterans consistently rank among my most capable students.

For the transitioning soldier, the practice is also portable and self owned, an online calendar that does not care where the next chapter lands, and a credential recognized worldwide.

Hypnotherapy Training

I wish there were 10 or 20 stars, as I cannot begin to put into words how amazing the Hypnosis Training course was with Mark Johnson. Once COVID-19 derailed the original class schedule of meeting in-person for two separate weeks of training, Mark presented through Zoom. We had presentations and lectures, we were able to see notes and outlines, video clips and live demonstrations with his shared screens. Lots of member participation and interaction. The separate rooms were perfect for practicing techniques with partners. Zoom allowed for Mark to enter the rooms and observe; as well, there was a help button so he could assist at anytime. Feedback throughout was excellent. As I have practiced with volunteers, friends, family, all of which was done on Zoom, both the clients as well as myself have been extremely comfortable and found the on-line experiences to be comfortable and effective. I feel very well prepared and have formed some awesome relationships with Mark and my fellow classmates. The best!

Can a Practice Thrive in a Town That Cycles?

The cycling is the stability. Fayetteville’s population turns over, but the installation guarantees the caseload never does. Every rotation brings new families managing the same pressures, and the city around the gates, schools, hospitals, businesses serving a quarter million people, carries a permanent civilian load of its own. Online sessions hold clients through every PCS move, theirs or yours.

Word of mouth moves through unit families, spouse networks and churches faster here than any advertising, and one genuinely helped household tells a whole neighborhood.

What Does the Hypnotherapy Certification Involve for Fayetteville Students?

The complete 220 hours from home, 110 live across three Thursday through Sunday modules, every other week, running 11 in the morning to 7 in the evening Eastern, plus 110 self directed hours including five real practice sessions with people outside class. Six days off a standard job covers the live half, and most students recoup tuition within their first twenty paying clients.

You certify through the International Association of Counselors and Therapists, recognized worldwide, first year of membership included, with six months of the Good Vibes Hypnosis Mentor Circle, a live group session on the third Tuesday of every month, holding formation through your first year.

How is Fayetteville different from the other military cities on this site?

Tempo. The coastal Navy towns live on long deployments and homecomings; Fayetteville lives on operational tempo, rapid cycles, high readiness, a community that surges and resets year round. That rhythm produces its own caseload, sleep on permanent alert, stress that never fully stands down, and its own students, people who already train hard for a living and recognize real training on sight.

The All American City understands readiness, and this profession is readiness turned inward. Train live, practice daily under supervision, and carry an IACT certification recognized worldwide through every PCS the future holds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The IACT certification is recognized in North Carolina and internationally, and it travels with every set of orders, so your credential holds wherever the Army sends you next.

Classes run 10:00 to 6:00 Central Time, which is 11:00 in the morning to 7:00 in the evening Eastern for Fayetteville students.

Often, yes. Soldiers, veterans and military families are regulars in these classes, drawn by one of the most portable credentialed professions available to them.

No degree, no prior clinical background and no previous experience with hypnosis. That surprises people, and it is worth being clear about why it is true. The field is self regulated, so the qualification that carries weight is certification through a recognized professional body rather than a university credential.

What you actually need is the training itself. In this program that means 110 hours of live class, 110 hours of self directed study, at least five complete sessions with people outside of class, a written assignment, an exam we prepare for together, a short ethics course through IACT and one recorded session you submit. Complete those and you hold certification through the International Association of Counselors and Therapists, recognized worldwide, with your first year of membership included. If you already have a clinical license or a coaching practice, this stacks on top of it rather than replacing it.

It stacks on top of what you already do rather than replacing any of it, unless that is what you want to do. Many of my students are licensed therapists, clinical social workers, counselors, nurses and professional coaches, and they tend to describe the same thing. Talk therapy is valuable, but it works largely within the conscious mind, and that can feel slow. Hypnosis accelerates the work you already do. By moving past the conscious mind's critical factor you reach the place where the patterns and the programs actually live. Adding interactive techniques like Parts Therapy, inner child work and regression to cause lets you help a client find and release a block in far less time than talking around it. Your license stays your baseline authority. This is a tool that makes it go further.
