What you earn is up to you, because this is typically self employed work. Three things decide it, and you control all three. What you charge, how many people you see, and how you set up your business.

I would rather show you how the math works than quote an average. The published figures blend employees with private practices and full timers with part timers, so they tell you very little about what you would actually earn.

How you charge makes the biggest difference. Some practitioners charge by the session, some by the hour, and some by the solution, where the client pays for the result rather than the time. That last approach rewards you for being effective, and a practitioner working that way can cover the cost of this training with a handful of clients.

Most of my students recoup their tuition within their first twenty paying clients, or fewer. From there it grows as your practice grows, which is why the business side is built into the training rather than saved for later. My own advice is to build alongside your current income the way I did, so you grow into it at your own pace.

In most states, very few. Hypnosis is a self regulated field, and in most of the country there is no state licensing board or government exam standing between you and practice. Your professional standing comes from certification through a recognized body such as IACT. That said, a handful of states do have specific rules about what you may call yourself in your marketing, or ask unlicensed practitioners to use a simple client disclosure form or register with the state. We go through the rules that apply to you in class, so you are not guessing when you set up your website and your intake paperwork. If you already hold a clinical license, that license remains your baseline authority and you are in a strong position from the start.
