Who Does the Working City Bring to the Chair?

The port complex is the busiest in the hemisphere, and it runs on people, longshore crews on call at all hours, truckers staged before dawn, logistics staff whose stress scales with every supply chain headline. Add the refineries’ rotating shifts, the hospital corridor, the airport and the university, and Long Beach generates the classic caseload, wrecked sleep, carried tension, stubborn habits, at industrial volume, with almost no certified coverage that I can find between downtown LA and Orange County.

Does the Craft Differ From the LA Version?

The craft is the same; the culture is the difference. Up the freeway, hypnosis gets marketed as a celebrity secret with a price tag to match. Long Beach has no patience for that, and neither does this training. Hypnosis is focused attention, a natural human state used deliberately, taught through demonstration and supervised practice until you can do it reliably, not perform it theatrically. Clients stay aware and in control throughout, and results are the only special effect.

Classes run 10:00 to 6:00 Central Time, which is 8:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon Pacific for Long Beach students. Early start, evenings free.

Regularly, yes. California students from San Diego to the Bay are a steady presence in these classes, so practice partners in your own time zone come built in.

No degree, no prior clinical background and no previous experience with hypnosis. That surprises people, and it is worth being clear about why it is true. The field is self regulated, so the qualification that carries weight is certification through a recognized professional body rather than a university credential.

What you actually need is the training itself. In this program that means 110 hours of live class, 110 hours of self directed study, at least five complete sessions with people outside of class, a written assignment, an exam we prepare for together, a short ethics course through IACT and one recorded session you submit. Complete those and you hold certification through the International Association of Counselors and Therapists, recognized worldwide, with your first year of membership included. If you already have a clinical license or a coaching practice, this stacks on top of it rather than replacing it.
