My name is Mark Johnson, and I am a second generation hypnotherapist. I did not discover hypnosis in a weekend seminar. I grew up around it, watched it change lives up close, and eventually built my own practice on it. Along the way I learned the difference between hypnosis that soothes and hypnosis that transforms, and that difference is exactly what I teach.

Today I train practitioners across the country through Good Vibes Hypnosis Training. The program carries certification through the International Association of Counselors and Therapists, recognized worldwide, and I serve as a Career Partner with the Newton Institute, so this training also opens the door to spiritual regression work if that path ever calls to you. Those credentials matter, but here is what matters more: I teach interactive hypnosis, not script reading. You will graduate knowing how to sit with a real human being and guide them to real depth.

How Does Live Online Training
Actually Work?

This is a complete professional certification, delivered live online. You will spend 110 hours in live instruction with me, matched by 110 hours of self-directed study, for a full 220 hour education. Every single class day includes supervised practice, because you do not learn hypnotherapy by watching it. You learn it by doing it, with real people, while someone experienced watches and guides you.

In breakout rooms you will receive personal mentoring on your inductions, your language, and your presence. You will practice conversational, interactive techniques that respond to the client in front of you instead of a script in your lap. And by the time you finish, you will have guided enough real sessions under supervision that seeing your first paying client feels like a natural next step rather than a leap of faith.

Classes run 10:00 to 6:00 Central Time, which is 11:00 in the morning to 7:00 in the evening in Boston. A full day, and not an early one.

Absolutely. This foundational 110 hour live training is the specific prerequisite required for those in the Boston area moving toward Life Between Lives (LBL) work.

Traditional academic financial aid does not apply to a program like this, so no, and I would rather be straight with you than let you chase it. What I do instead is make it easy to pay over time. A deposit holds your seat and your rate, and the balance spreads across several months interest free. Between the early bird rate and a plan, most people find the path opens up more easily than they expected.

The complete certification is delivered through a live, interactive online classroom, so you can train from Boston or anywhere else without the expense of travel. This is not a set of recordings. You are in the room with me and your fellow students in real time, practicing daily under live supervision.

This is one of the quietest fears people carry into a discovery call, and it deserves a real answer. You are not there to fix anyone, and you do not need a psychology degree to facilitate a genuine breakthrough. We teach you how to set clear professional boundaries, how to word your website and intake disclaimers, and how to work with referrals so that a client with a diagnosed condition is being cared for by the right people alongside you. That protects you and it turns local doctors and counselors into a referral source rather than a worry. And the techniques themselves keep you in the right seat. You guide non leading dialogue and the client's own subconscious does the resolving. You are the facilitator, not the one carrying the weight.

The program totals 220 hours and certifies through the International Association of Counselors and Therapists, and your first year of membership and certification is included in your tuition. To earn the certified hypnotherapist designation you attend all 110 hours of live class, complete 110 hours of self directed study on your own time, which includes the reading list, the video library, and at least five complete hypnosis sessions with people outside of class, turn in a written homework assignment, pass the multiple choice exam we take in class during the final module, complete a short online ethics course through IACT, and submit one audio recording of an interactive session. The exam sounds more intimidating than it is. We take a practice test together first, so you walk in knowing exactly what to expect.

It happens, and having an answer ready is the difference between panicking and staying in charge of the session. I had a very analytical client sit with me who, after twenty minutes of deep relaxation work, announced that he was not hypnotized, that he could still feel the sofa underneath him and hear the air conditioner running. He was right about all of it. Hypnosis does not switch off your senses or knock you unconscious. So I asked him to close his eyes, imagine standing up, and slowly turn a full circle three times. On the third turn he dropped straight into his fourth birthday party, describing the pinata hanging over his head. You will leave here with a whole library of those quiet nudges, one for every kind of brain that sits in your chair.
