This is a complete 220 hour professional certification taught personally by second generation hypnotherapist Mark Johnson, delivered through a live, interactive online classroom. You practice on real people every single class day, under live supervision, and graduate ready to see paying clients.

Why Is Dallas Home Base for This School?

Because this is where the work turned from inheritance into livelihood. I grew up watching my father practice in Charleston, but Dallas is where I built a practice of my own, as a weekend warrior with a corporate programming job, seeing clients on evenings and weekends until hypnotherapy could pay the bills by itself. The school grew out of that practice, taught in person across DFW for years before moving live online.

That history changes what you get as a student here. Nothing in this curriculum is theory to me. Every technique was earned in front of paying clients, many of them in this city.

The Commitment

How Long Does It Take to Become a Hypnotherapist in Dallas?

The live portion is 110 hours, spread over twelve class days. Thursday through Sunday, every other week, across three modules. On a Central Time clock, class runs 10:00 to 6:00, no conversion math for DFW students. A person working Monday to Friday spends six days of leave on the entire certification. The other 110 hours are self directed, the reading, the video library, and practice sessions, and they fit around your life rather than interrupting it.

Can a Coach or Counselor Add Hypnotherapy to Their Practice?

Yes, and they make some of my strongest students. Coaches and counselors arrive with built in clients, so most begin using what they learn right away, often after the first module. What hypnotherapy adds is reach. Talk based work happens in the conscious mind, and the patterns your clients fight live deeper than that. Interactive hypnotherapy gives you direct, conversational access to that deeper level, through parts work, regression to cause, suggestion built from the client's own words. Counselors, coaches, nurses and bodyworkers make up a large share of my classes, and what they consistently report is the same work moving faster and landing more permanently.

Do You Need Experience to Become a Hypnotherapist?

Then your first induction happens on day one, with me watching. You learn the Elman method, demonstrate it in a supervised breakout room with a classmate, and feel it work in your own hands before your first class day ends. From there it is repetition with feedback. Every class day includes supervised practice, and an Ask for Help button brings me or a teaching assistant into your room the moment you want backup. Nobody graduates from this program without having done the work many times over.

What Happens After You Become a Certified Hypnotherapist?

You start, and the school stays with you. The final fourteen hours of the program happen weeks after the last module, built around the questions your first real sessions produce. You keep the resource library for good, your first year of IACT membership is included, and you get six months of the Good Vibes Hypnosis Mentor Circle, a live 90 minute group on the third Tuesday of every month where cases and practice building get worked through together.

Is Good Vibes still a Dallas school?

In every way that matters. I built my practice in the Dallas area, taught here in person for years, and Texans still make up a healthy share of every class. The classroom moved online in 2020, and I later traded the city for acreage in East Texas, but the school's roots, its phone number, and a large share of its graduates are as DFW as they ever were.

This work took root for me right here in Dallas, and it can take root for you too. Absolutely. This foundational course is the specific prerequisite required for those in the DFW area moving toward Life Between Lives (LBL) work.

Few schools offer a direct second generation lineage, a curriculum shaped by masters like Gil Boyne and Gerald Kein, and a focus on interactive hypnosis rather than script reading. You graduate knowing how to work conversationally with a real client, not just how to read an induction aloud.

Yes! Our online classes often include many local North Texas residents. While the training is virtual, students often form local peer support groups in the DFW area after graduation.

It depends entirely on what you intend to do with it, and I would rather say that plainly than sell you something. If you are going to see clients, then yes, and the tuition tends to come back inside your first twenty paying sessions or fewer. If you want the certificate for the wall, or to add a line to a coaching page you are not really going to use, then no amount of tuition is worth it and I will say so on the call.

The other half of the question is which training is worth it, and there I would judge any program, mine included, on three things. How many hours are live with the person teaching, how many times you will guide a real human being with someone experienced watching you, and what happens after the last class day.

A course that is mostly recordings and no supervised practice produces people holding a certificate who have never actually run a session, and that is where the disappointment comes from. Ask any program those three questions, not just this one.
